The city welcomed the Decemberists back to town with a sold-out show at The Pageant. With guest Sara Watkins along for the tour, Colin Meloy and his fellow Portlandians played a graceful set showcasing new material from The King is Dead.

For their first time playing St. Louis, the Dum Dum Girls made a nice impression on the Billiken Club crowd, clad in their trademark black attire and pumping out their fuzzed out pop through amps silkscreened with their band’s name. Closing out the night with a cover of The Smiths’ “There is a Light That Never Goes Out,” the California quartet left a crowd hoping it wouldn’t be too long before their next appearance in town. Drawing a sell-out crowd to The Firebird, Tokyo Police Club fired off a set of their snappy pop, which kept the front rows jumping and smiling all night, even with singer David Monks fighting a bad cold that night. (more…)

Springfield, MO’s Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin opened for TPC for the final time on this leg of the tour, with guitarist Will Knauer celebrating the occasion by stage-diving onto the drumset at the end of the set. (more…)

Hypnotized by her inviting smile and sultry movements across the stage, the crowd was entranced by Grace Potter’s raucous blues-soaked rock. The Nocturnals matched Potter’s intensity, transforming songs into extended jam sessions that left us stunned and amazed. (more…)
