Merging and weaving genres of punk, pop, new wave, disco, funk and metal, Electric Six invigorates eager dancers everywhere.  Kill (Oct. 2009) is the newest release from the Detroit based sextet, and their new material strongly resonated in the Firebird while the band destroyed their set in St. Louis.  While frontman Dick Valentine maintains a fairly quiet demeanor on stage, his well timed vocals play around the funky disco beats of the band.  They quickly tore through a balanced mix of songs from all six of their albums released since Fire (2003) – the crowd was overjoyed that E6 was unafraid to play “Danger! High Voltage” as well as “Gay Bar” and “Dance Commander,” their three tracks from 2003 that each cracked the top 10 UK singles chart.
