The Middle East, hailing from Queensland, Australia, have recently released an abridged version of their 2008 album, The Recordings of the Middle East. Having split and re-convened, the band is now playing shows in Australia and gathering a peculiar interest from indie radio play on this side of the much-larger pond. ”The Darkest Side” was recently offered for download from Pitchfork’s Forkcast, cluing many of us Yanks in on the hushed and glowing sounds that the band had to offer.
