Where: the Gramophone
Chicago rap group BBU, or Bin Laden Blowin’ Up, rocks the mic as well as the dancefloor. With a rising career (they ran through SXSW and have a spot on the Lollapalooza lineup) and high energy live shows, the trio will be bringing Chicago upbeat hip-hop to the Lou with a spot at London Calling this Saturday. To check them out, cop their free mixtape here.

Where: the Gramophone
When: 9 PM
Looking to start your Mardi Gras weekend off right? The party begins at 9PM on Friday night with The Hood Internet’s genre swapping mash-ups (one of my favorites, Weezer vs. Drake). The Chicago DJ duo has taken the internet (and clubs all over the states) by storm with mixtapes and performances combining Top 100 rap with under-the-radar indie, which is a surprisingly good recipe for an epic dance party. See you there!
