Swapping Hank Williams Sr. for B.B. King, we hit Interstate 40 and head west towards Memphis, home of the blues, rock ‘n’ roll, and an epicenter for soul music. We arrive around 2 pm, and most of the historical music destinations close by 5 or 6 pm. Time to boogie.

You can’t visit Nashville without paying respects to the country greats. We kick the day off at the Country Music Hall of Fame – a massive building downtown – to take a trip through some of America’s rich musical history. Top 40 country, not included.

We arrive in Nashville around 5 pm, and the twang of good ‘ol country music is in the air. Or is it the Taylor Swift greatest hits record blasting from our tC’s speakers? I’mma let you finish after the jump.

Time for a trip back in music history, no flux capacitor needed. Nashville and Memphis still hold much of the underpinnings of blues and rock ‘n’ roll. Just at St. Louis’ weather is finally becoming bearable, it’s time to hightail it to Tennessee for a musical history lesson. And, Memphis BBQ wouldn’t hurt, either.
See our playlist for the ride after the jump.
