<p>The Middle East, hailing from Queensland, Australia, have recently released an abridged version of their 2008 album, <em>The Recordings of the Middle East.</em> Having split and re-convened, the band is now playing shows in Australia and gathering a peculiar interest from indie radio play on this side of the much-larger pond.  &#8221;The Darkest Side&#8221; was recently offered for download from Pitchfork&#8217;s Forkcast, cluing many of us Yanks in on the hushed and glowing sounds that the band had to offer.</p>
