As the summer chugs on, LouFest comes closer and closer.  The end of August will bring a variety of outstanding artists to Forest Park, and each week we will highlight one of our favorites.  This week, it’s Gentleman Auction House.

Since 2005, the group has packed venues across the Midwest and was featured in a Daytrotter session. The smooth vocal delivery of singer and guitarist Eric Enger, further enhanced at times with harmonies by keyboardist Kiley Kozel, serves as a foundation for many of Gentleman Auction House’s jams. Quirky keys, crunchy guitar, and triumphant horns all manage to slip their way into the band’s diverse repertoire ranging from lullabies to sing-a-longs. In the same vein as Arcade Fire and the New Pornographers, Gentleman Auction House succeed in crafting a sound greater than the sum of its layers. Check out the band’s material on their MySpace.
