Theodore’s sound is straight out of another time – full of country roads, dusty phonographs, and just enough pedal steel to make you really feel it. The Saint Louis-based band will bring their unique folk/bluegrass sound to Off Broadway this Friday evening. Stop in for a listen and maybe you’ll catch a song off of their upcoming album, slated for release in February 2010, or possibly their killer cover of Leonard Cohen’s “Chelsea Hotel.”

The Rock N Roll Craft Show has been out to bring Saint Louis the freshest handmade crafts together with some of the area’s finest music since 2005, and this year is no exception. The festival takes place Friday through Sunday, with musical acts at The Firebird and hundreds of vendors at the Third Degree Glass Factory. We All Have Hooks For Hands, in addition to having one of the best visual band names ever, are the Beach Boys’ demented children. Okay not really, but that’s how a fan described their sound, and it’s actually pretty apropos. The surf-y guitars and penchant for harmony are there, but roughed up around the edges by their deconstructed, definitely modern sound. They’re at The Firebird on Sunday with Saint Louis’ own Target Market, and Tarlton, out of Minneapolis.
