Looking for something to do? No need to fear – here are some standout concerts happening over the next week:

1. Rhymefest w/ Gotta Be Karim, Vandalyzm, and Tef Poe
-Where: the Gramophone
-When: Friday, July 16th @ 9 PM
-How Much: $8 adv / $10 door (21+)
-Why: When was the last time you hit a good hip-hop show? If it wasn’t in the last two weeks, then you really have no excuse to not hit up Rhymefest, with two of STL’s best (and one STL alum) opening.
-What else: Pregame with Rhymfest’s El Che, which was released last month.
2. Popular Mechanics CD Release Show w/ Blood Pony and Thunderkid
-Where: the Firebird
-When: Friday, July 17th @ 9:30 PM
-How Much: $7
-Why: It’s always exciting when a local band releases a new album – and it’s a good one too!
-What else: Though openers Blood Pony and Thunderkid are totally different (hit up thier MySpaces to get a taste), they’re both good reasons to show up early.
3. Cowboy and Indian
-Where: Foam
-When: Saturday, July 17th @ 9 PM
-How Much: FREE!
-Why: Besides the price tag, Cowboy and Indian’s delicate vocals over sparse guitar will fit Foam’s intimate space perfectly.
-What else: A dude from the TV show Friday Night Lights is part of the duo.
