David Beeman and Kit Hamon will be performing at Plush. One half of St. Louis’ pop rock group, Old Lights, David and Kit are bringing the same bright and vibrant sound that Old Lights is known for to their duo performance. The free show starts at 8:30. The show is open to those 18 and up.

Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty is, surprisingly, not the start of a classic joke about your mother’s weight condition, but is, instead, a funky band from North Carolina. Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band, a.k.a. the Booty Band, is coming to the Old Rock House. Doors open at 8. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 the day of. The show is open to those 18 and up.

Head down to Plush to see the Vondrukes, St. Louis punkabilly at its finest. The Vondrukes released their first full-length album this year titled Runaway, Goodbye Love. The free show is at 8:30. The show is open to those 18 and up.

Old Rock House welcomes Carbon Leaf, a Virginia-based five-piece indie rock band. Also performing will be Joe Stickley & Sean Canan, two veteran of the St. Louis music scene coming together to provide a fantastic Americana opener. Doors open at 7. Tickets are $15 and the show is open to all ages.
THURSDAY, July 26th

This Thursday is the first ever Thrashin’ Thursday presented by Plush. The question of how hardcore and gritty you can get in a place named Plush will finally be answered. In order to provide a diverse music experience at their venue, each Thursday, Plush is bringing in punk, metal, and alternative acts from St. Louis and beyond. For the inaugural Thrashin’ Thursday, three great groups will be performing. At 10 is Jesus Chrystler, a metal band from Florrisant, MO. At 11 are The Headies, a punk/soul group from Delaware. And finally, at 12, the headliner Holy Hand Grenades, a punk rock band from St. Louis. Doors open at 9. Tickets are $6 at the door. The show is open to those 18 and up.
FRIDAY, July 27th

KDHX 88.1 welcomes Gold Motel, the Chicago-based indie pop band, to the Firebird. What originally started as a solo project by Greta Morgan of The Hush Sound, has grown into a 5-piece band whose sharp and sunny pop sound has gained a lot of attention. Opening will be Jon Walker, the former bassist of Panic! at the Disco, and Belleville, Illinois’ We Should Leave This Tree. Doors open at 8. Tickets are $10. The show is open to all ages but there is a $3 minor surcharge.
SATURDAY, July 28th

Off Broadway is hosting The Union Electric Full Length Release Party this Saturday. This is a can’t-miss event. The album is titled Time Is Gold and there will also be performances by fellow St. Louis bands: Middle Class Fashion, Pretty Little Empire, and Red Squad. Guerrilla Street Food will provide food. Doors open at 7:30. Tickets are $10. The show is open to all ages but there will be a $3 minor surcharge. And admission includes a copy of Union Electric’s new CD.

Ponderosa is coming to the Old Rock House. The Atlanta-based rock & roll band is releasing a new album, titled Pool Party, on July 31st. Doors open at 7. Tickets are $10 and the show is open to all ages. But, if you can’t make the show, Ponderosa will also be having an in-store performance at Vintage Vinyl at 4.
